Balancing Love

Hi everyone. My name is Jennifer Woods and I am a full-time blogger.  I am 43 yrs. old and have 3 children. Adriana, Alessandra, and Adam. I am born and raised in Upstate NY. I have 2 passions, writing and fitness. I don’t have a lot of spare time because raising 3 young children by myself which is no easy task, but every second I have is devoted to my love for this blog and the pursuit to helping others finding a balance in love.

So you’re here because you want to know more about me and what this relationship blog is all about. The reason I came up with this blog is because ever since I was in my teens I always wanted to be a writer. I wanted to write romance novels, funny enough. Friends, even people I hardly know have always come to me for relationship advice. I must be easy to talk to. Maybe I should have been a psychiatrist instead ha. As I got older and started my career in sales I built relationships with customers, and they started asking me for advice. Talking to me about their lives, their problems, and I just very naturally had a knack for helping people. My parents would always say to me, I can’t believe they tell you all these things and they hardly know you.

Now fast forward a little to dating, then marriage, kids, then a divorce, and I have quite a bit of data stored up in this brain of mine. One great thing about life is all the experiences you go through. My idea for my blog came to me about 3 years ago, after my divorce. Here I was back out there, a fish in the ocean, trying to juggle a new life as a single parent, a full-time job, ready to date and it was very overwhelming. So, I did what we all do now when we need information, I went to google haha. There was nothing, and I thought that can’t be. All I could find was a few articles of how to date, or how to recover from a breakup, that did me no good. So, I got to thinking, how do people start over? How do they start out even? How do they seek help in finding a balance in their personal lives, work, and their children? And then it happened. The tsunami flooded me within seconds. I said, Jen, you NEED to start a blog to help people find a balance in their lives with love and their relationships with others. No, I don’t hold any fancy degrees, but I do hold something, my life and other people’s life experiences. Nothing is more real and raw as that. So, there you have it, 3 years later, here we are, balancing love, or at least I’m trying to.

This blog is about us. What do we do when we’ve lost a loved one and have to start over? What do we do when we’ve gotten divorced and are ready to date? How do we start to fix ourselves and offer the best versions of ourselves to someone else? How can we change or improve on ourselves from a failed relationship? What can I do on the weekends with my kids by myself? There’s so much to this blog, and what’s so great is there’s something for everyone whether you’re a man or a woman. Whether you’ve been married or not, as well as if you have children or not and are trying to find a balance between your career and your personal life. My goal is to give YOU the tools to be successful in all aspects of your personal life.

There is also an Ask Jen section where you can post specific questions/topics your currently having and I can answer you back in a forum setting. If you need dating ideas, relationship help, questions about your divorce, etc. We will keep it clean though, no X rated, inappropriate questions, sorry.

In the fall I will be offering 6 week long sessions (1 class per week) in person in Rochester NY. This is really for newbies starting over and people who are really struggle with getting dates. I will get you set up with a stylist, get you a new wardrobe, and teach you with confidence how to get dating again with confidence and ultimately fall in love again with the right person. The goal is to get you in a healthy, long lasting relationship. More details to follow. I will post class schedules on my home page soon.
